Most members of the Leaf-footed Bug family have conspicuous, leaf-like expansions on the legs, but this sub-group is an exception and is without them. Like other coreids, Catorintha can squirt out foul-smelling material. Fruits and developing seeds are the principal food source which they attack with long slender mouthparts designed for piercing and sucking. Length is about 11mm, base color is brown and there is a cream-colored marginal band. This specimen was found feeding on acorns of Quercus emoryi, but there are records of this insects feeding on a variety of other unrelated plants also.
