This vine was found growing along a canyon in the Pajarito Mts., Sta. Cruz Co., Arizona. 25 Sept. 2016.

LEAVES: Broad, nearly orbicular leaves usually have a deep cleft where the petiole attaches.

RANGE: In Arizona's sycamore canyons of mostly southeastern Arizona this vine grows on sunny, alluvial banks where it can climb through other shrubs and robust annuals.

VINE: Herbaceous slender stems secured by tendrils.

FLOWERS: The small white flowers with five points show after summer rains.

FRUIT: Elliptical and up to 5 cm long armed with many long, barbed prickles.

UNARMED except for the fruit which have long prickles.
