In the hotter, drier portions of the Sonoran Desert Gray Foxes are more likely to be encountered along broad riparian habitats such as along the rivers where vegetation and prey are more abundant. At North Mountain Park in Phoenix I found a gray fox that returned every morning to the security lighting around the communications towers.
