Antelope Jackrabbit

Observed at Saguaro National Park, East in the foothills of the Rincon Mountains, Pima Co., Arizona. 29 Aug. 2016. It is feeding on fruit of Engelmann Prickly-Pear.

This large and fast-moving hare is a denizen of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona and hence south into Mexico. Notice the the tips and margins of the very large ears are edged in white. The sides are gray.
