ANNUAL GRASS: A delicate annual growing in small clumps and not much exceeding 30 cm tall. Present in spring following good precipitation.

RANGE: Can be found along washes or on gentle slopes through much of the Sonoran Desert but is often hard to see.

LEAVES: Leaf blades about 2 mm wide. wide.

SPIKES: Narrow branching panicle with slightly compressed florets. Three to eight florets per spike.
