RANGE: Upland Sonoran Desert in the northwest portions of Arizona, but more characterisitc of Mojave Desert and lower chaparral.

FRUIT: Single-seeded fruits are flattened, are covered with silky pubescence, and are topped with a pappus of fine white bristles.

LEAVES: Linear leaves are sometimes slightly enlarged towards tip.

SHRUB: Woody plants are typically a meter in height.

FLOWERS: Bright yellow rays are numerous and narrow.  Yellow disc flowers are also present.  Blooming late summer and fall.

UNARMED.
