Blue-eyed Darners are found in the Sonoran Desert where there are ponds or catchments of water, including at wastewater treatment facilities. Both the adults and the immature larvae are important predators of midges and mosquitoes. The larvae, like all odonates (Dragonflies and Damselflies), are aquatic.
